Jenny Dowling (DYT, DPN, SHNS)
Welcome, I'm Jenny Dowling and I am the founder of Hands on Harmony Yoga, Health & Wellness. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my journey.
In all, my yoga practice spans over 20 years and I have now experienced the joy of teaching for over 7 years. I am a qualified Yoga Teacher and I completed my training with The International School of Dru Yoga.
My work in yoga and wellbeing has led me down a winding and wonderful path and I have been lucky enough to be interviewed and featured in Om Yoga Magazine to recently teaching a sunkissed field full of people at Stonehenge Solstice Festival and even more adventures are around the corner!
I am proud to have won Spa & Wellness Awards Yoga Instructor Of The Year 2019 and been a finalist for Bolton Health & Wellbeing Awards 2019 and The Hive Awards.
I also hold diplomas in Meditation, Nutrition, Herbalism, Aromatherapy, Massage, Indian Head Massage and I am attuned to Reiki Master level. I have also completed Level 2 Counselling Concepts from Manchester College as I felt it important to develop my communication skills when helping and working with others.
I was first introduced to yoga at the age of 11 years old when I attended a class with my mother. Even then I was captivated by meditation, holistic living and the idea that we are more than just our physical form. My passion was ignited and throughout my teenage years I would explore different yoga disciplines, reiki and meditation.
I attended University and studied Law with Spanish. I enjoyed my university years immensely - my yoga practice serving me well during times of exam stress. Following graduation, I embarked on a career path in litigation. Whilst I found this intellectually stimulating, I always felt that something was missing and I was not being true to who I really was - I could not find my purpose at work. My yoga practice was strong and steady - providing me with a sense of truth and balance at a time when I felt lost. After four years of the legal profession I made the decision to say farewell. I followed my heart and my intuition founding Hands on Harmony in 2012 and in doing so I discovered my dharma. Building Hands on Harmony Yoga, Health & Wellness has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done and I am very excited to see what the future brings.
